Heston Introduces New Christmas Pudding Gin

In the run-up to Christmas 2010 people went crazy for Heston’s Christmas Pudding, which had a caramelised Valencian orange hidden inside. It sold out within weeks and even started bidding wars on the internet.

This Christmas, Heston is introducing a limited-edition gin inspired by that famous pudding. Distilled with juniper and blended with a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, raisins, Seville and bitter orange peels, it really captures the classic Christmas aromas. This dry British gin is made by the Chase Distillery in Hereford, which produces field-to-bottle spirits from potatoes grown on the family farm. Try serving it as a festive Negroni with an orange peel garnish or simply with tonic.

Heston Blumenthal says: “Every year, we keep pushing the boundaries of my Heston from Waitrose range. My team in Bray and the team at Waitrose & Partners are always working to achieve something unique. This combines a great product in the potato-based gin with the fantastic flavours of my Hidden Orange Christmas Pudding. It’s just perfect for the holidays.”

Heston’s Hidden Orange Christmas Pudding Gin (£20) is available in Waitrose & Partners shops from this week. It’s a Limited Edition, though, so stock up early!
